The play is set during the depression-era and focuses on a disparate group of characters competing in a dance marathon in hopes of winning a large sum of money. Humiliated and manipulated by the event organizer who is willing to do anything to draw a crowd, none will be left unscathed. Based on the novel “They shoot horses, don’t they” by Horace McCoy.
