St. Boniface Historic Tour

Once considered the gate to Western Canada, St. Boniface has played an important role in the history of Manitoba. Founded in 1818 by the abbots Provencher and Dumoulin after their arrived at La colonie de la Rivière-Rouge, at the beginning of the Catholic mission. Over the years, religion is growing. A Metis and French-Canadian community settled around the parish, which became a city in 1883.

Today, St. Boniface is the bilingual neighbourhood of Winnipeg. With this tour, you can explore the history of this unique part of the city and have a sight on the places and landmark who contributed to the French-Canadian and Metis community raise in Western Canada.
